Ideas for first birthday!

Coopers birthday will be in two little months! So it's time to start planning. Can't believe I am planning already. Seems like he should just be a newborn again!

I already know the theme I am doing; OWLS! I love owls and they are so adorable. I have been looking a lot on Pinterest and just different websites trying to figure out the meals, decor, clothing, favors, etc.

I had a really tough time finding the "smash" cake I wanted for him. I really looked a lot and couldn't find anything until I looked on Pinterest (; I finally found this:

Oh my goodness, I am so in love with it! Of course the top will say Cooper. But it's red velvet cake with buttercream frosting. I wanted something without fondant. I am not a fan of fondant cakes so this was a HUGE plus. Everything I found had fondant on it. It's so beautiful!

I am doing home made pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for everyone else! Very fall themed and they are yummy!

I have already decided on the menu. I did a lot of Pinterest searching for the "appetizers" just something people can come in and get while they are waiting on the food. I picked two things. One is this:

It's pumpkin dip ! Really simple but very cute. The pumpkin dip has canned pumpkin, vanilla pudding and cool whip. And you use whatever cookie you want on the side to dip it in.

The other side is going to be pretzels, but I am using a home made mix to put on the pretzels for extra taste!

The main meal is going to be chili beans, with rice and garlic bread. One of my favorite fall meals. On the side I am also putting out saltine crackers, and different cheeses to put on the chili!

I think I have decided on Coopers outfits for the party. I am getting him two along with a bib and party hat as well!

I haven't fully decided on all the owl decor I am doing. I know I am setting out a lot of pumpkins since he is having a owl/fall theme. 

I am going birthday shopping for him next month as well for gifts ! I really don't even know what I am getting him yet. I know he loves match box cars, and stuff that makes sounds. I know he will be getting a lot of clothes though!

I can't wait to actually post his birthday party! He has 8 more weeks till his party. How crazy is that!?
